Origins

KRA SPORTS was founded with a passion for football and a vision to revolutionise talent development in the industry. Our founders, with years of experience in the football industry and talent scouting in Ghana and across Europe, identified a gap in the market for a comprehensive talent development programme that caters to the specific needs of both players and clubs, but protecting the players as a priority. With a strong foundation in talent identification and player development (during and post-playing), we are poised to make a significant impact in the football industry.

KRA SPORTS is a unique football group, focusing on the develop of African youth talent and the realisation of potential.  Through the development of an academy in Ghana and a professional club in France/Spain, youth players are placed in an elite development programme to achieve their sporting potential.  These players will all gain a secondary skill/qualification and use that to build their academy and train others to do the same.

  • In Akan spirituality, the Kra is the soul of the person.
  • It is of divine origin and as such is delivered from God (Nyame/Niamien)
  • Your Kra is therefore an innate talent, a unique, creative blessing bestowed upon you
  • Sport is in your soul and your artistry is shown on the field of play.
  • The harnessing of your Kra can maximise your potential and deliver betterment.

Our Vision is Our Mission

“Empowering Ghana’s football talent to soar onto the global stage, our academy envisions a pathway to excellence, cultivating the next generation of elite players primed for European football’s pinnacle. Through holistic development, relentless mentorship, and cutting-edge training, we forge not just skilled athletes, but resilient leaders, poised to make their mark on the world stage. Our mission is to be the catalyst for Ghanaian football’s ascent, creating opportunities for our players to showcase their ability and secure coveted positions within Europe’s esteemed football clubs, or alternatively, taking their skillsets to local towns across the country and beyond the build up academies using the KRA MODEL, thereby reshaping the landscape of African talent domestically and in the international arena.”

Our remit is giving people the tools to shape their own futures in a safe, transparent and ethical manner, and using those tools to become self-sufficient, and passing those tools on to others to do the same.

To drive initial investment (financial and know-how) into the social space across Africa, through sport, starting with Ghana initially until a model of self-sufficiency and “pay-it-forward” is enabled. We are ardent believers in the UN’s project for Sustainable Development, and in particular their ‘African Promise’, but in particular the following:

Fighting poverty

Poverty has many dimensions, but its causes include unemployment, social exclusion, and high vulnerability of certain populations to disasters, diseases and other phenomena which prevent them from being productive.

Eradicating extreme poverty for all people everywhere by 2030 is a pivotal goal of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Extreme poverty, defined as surviving on less than $2.15 per person per day at 2017 purchasing power parity, has witnessed remarkable declines over recent decades.

Promoting wellbeing

A significant portion of the global population still lacks access to vital healthcare services. To bridge this gap and ensure equitable healthcare provision, addressing disparities is critical. Various determinants of health, including environmental and commercial factors, need attention to pave the way for achieving our common objective of Health for All and achieving the Sustainable Development Goal targets.

Empowerment

A persistent lack of decent work opportunities, insufficient investments and under-consumption contribute to the erosion of the basic social contract: that all must share in progress. The creation of quality jobs remain a major challenge for almost all economies.
This can be fixed by providing youth the best opportunity to transition to a decent job calls for investing in education and training of the highest possible quality.

Player Development

The Development Programme is tailored with the specific ambitions of developing Players’ abilities to be able to perform at the highest levels of league football, particularly at the Kra Partner Club in Europe.

The Academy will not operate in isolation but in full cooperation with the Kra Partner Club to develop players, adopting similar technical coaching programmes and developing social skills to ease the transition from a different level of football to a different country and social environment.

The Programme focuses on the following 4 Corners model to develop a rounded player and individual:

Four Fundamental Pillars

Tactical: developing players so they understand the fundamentals of how to play the game, and the specific functions of the position in which they play.

Technical: developing core skills and functions of the game, ensuring they are competent in the fundamental skills before building into more specialist areas.

Physical: developing players as high performance athletes to facilitate the areas of tactical and technical functions with power, strength and pace, including areas of strength and conditioning, sports science, medical and nutrition.

Social: developing the player with the right mindset of being a professional athlete with the appropriate desire to play, along with fundamental education and social skills as a member of society.
